What is the skill set for XI developer

We are looking to hire/train XI developer internally and try to understand kind of background is required for XI developr.

Can anyone please let me know the following

1. Background for XI developr ( e.g Java or ABAP or C++ or any language)

2. What SAP Training is avaialbe for XI developer.

Hi

Since XI is on the ABAP ans JAVA, Knowledgein both is optimum.Atleast to the extent basic java knowldge is mandatory

SAP trainings are provided but first u need to mail to them to check with ur eligiblity for the traning

C++ not required at all.

ABAP and JAVA knowledge will have added advantage...

But I know many XI experts who have a very little knowledge on ABAP and JAVA.

Actually for a XI developer its not medatory to have knowledge of ABAP...Since ABAP part are generally handel by ABAPers in the project.

little bit JAVA is required.in case of UDFs and JAVA proxy it will be required

XI 3.0

XI 7.0

these two r avialable as of now.

in 2008 hopefully Xi 7.1 will be launched.

- starts from technical specification

- create design and configuration objects- execute unit tests

- support integration/stress tests

- document the developments

- Pass technical specification to XI developers

- Convert business/functional requirements in technical specifications

- Prepare the solution Roadmap

- Design the integration process
