Hi Friends,
What is the difference between Application system and Integration server in SLD?
what is the purpose of Integration server in business system?
Hi
In the most simplest terms..
The Integration Engine consists of a configured set of Pipeline Services through which XI messages are processed.SAP Applications based on SAP Web Application Server version 6.20 or higher have their own local instance of the Integration Engine. This allows for communication with the Central Integration Engine in the native XI-SOAP format via Proxies.
The Integration Engine on the Central Exchange Infrastructure system is configured as the Central Integration Engine and is known as the Integration Server.
All other Integration Engines are configured as Application Systems.
Thanks

Radhika,
What is the difference between Application system and Integration server in SLD?
When we create business system ..we r having 2 roles of business system
1)integration server
2)Application system
So when u select Business system role as "Application System"
u have to specify the XI inegration sever name associated with it because application systems(like R/3,CRM,BW etc..) are associated with a particular Integration server(XI)
what is the purpose of Integration server in business system?
Business system is nothing but a logical representation of different clients of Technical system..
XI server is a technical system and it may have Busines system associated with it(client 100, 110,200)...so such cases... Business system role will be integration server.
hope u r little bit clear now...!!
