my client want to change material type and valuation class in their production system. but the material no. and some transaction had done by this material. anything i need to concern? especially, in FI part. thank

We can change the material type and valution class.
if you change valuation class , we need to assign the G/L account for that valuation class in OBYC.
In MMAM, we can change the material type.

when ever the valuation class changed u need to specify the account determination(GL account) for that particular valuation class in the TCODE OBYC(automatic postingsFI-MM). entry is
Valuation modification ,valuation class, GL a/c credit,GL account debit

Material type and valuation class are linked through configuration. In your case i think you need to create a new materials for this.

You can change the valuation class, but the stock quantity has to be zero at that time.
The material type can not be changed.
