Can any body tell me ,what is the fnc of schedule margin key in MRP
and how it works in MRP.
Hi,
Schedule margin key includes Float before production, Float after production, Opening peiod & release period.
Float before production is the time to use for compensate the delays of staging the components.
Float after production is the time to use for compensate any delay of operation.
Opening period is the time to used by MRP controller to convert the planned order into purchase requisition.
Release period is the time to release the purchase req.
These settings can be done by tcode OPPQ

Hi,
SM key is used to keep the margin(days) before production and after production.
For e.g. you want to convert a planned order to production order but you have kept the margin(days) before production as 5 days then your planned order will be converted to your production order after 5 days.these 5 days will be specified in the configuration of SM key.
Similarly you can put the margin after production in SM key.
Reward points if it helps.
Regards
Karan
