Could somone tell me what the easiest way of installing SAP GUI 710 is...we currently have our own automated install but proves to be very flakey and time consuming....what we want to do is install SAP GUI 710, with patch level 3...we will tag our own saplogon.ini file to the end and other files that are required for training....we want to deploy this to several hundred users across at least four domains and will probably be doing this via Active directory....I would just like a guide on the best practice...from what I remember with 640...SAPs own installer was very bad a t doing this...
Many Thanks...
Gurj
We use a combination of SAPs installation server and Empirum to distribute the software across PCs.
The 7.10 installer works pretty well although the frontend can be a bit confusing (Patchelevels for e.g . BW not displayed correctly etc.)
There are also ways of adding saplogon.ini, services etc. to the package, see
Note 1035560 - Customizing SAP GUI 710 Installation
In our case empirum will just trigger the installation, the installation itself is then done using the distribution service of the SAP installation server.
