Hi,

have you already install Oracle 9.2 as new installation on a Solaris 10 SPARC box ? I check in PAM that patch set 9.2.0.6 in required ... but do you know if exist a particular procedure ? Install 9.2 at fist and then patch it to 9.2.0.6 is OK for a Solaris 10 box ?

Regards.

Ganimede,

Yes, that is correct. For a new install, there is a 2 step process:

1) Install the base 9.2.0 version of Oracle.

2) Install your target patch level - in can be 9.2.0.6 or 9.2.0.8 (latest)

After the patch set installation, continue your SAP install. You are OK.

Just curious - with Oracle 9i going out of maintenance next year, why not just goto Oracle 10?

Cheers,

Tim

It is a strategic and politic change from out-sourcing to in-sourcing migration, we haven't time time to test new Oracle release.

yes, but you will need to run a few SQL scripts such as catpatch and catalog. check 9.2.0.8 upgrade instructions.
