Hi,

in ST02, the DEV server PROGRAM BUFFER

SIZE

Allocated KB 500,000

Available KB 483,320

Used KB 482,156

Free KB 1,164

Gaps KB 1,143

DIRECTORY ENTRIES

Available 125,000

Used 12,024

Free 112,976

Objects swapped 15,011

Frames swapped 0

Total

The Object swapped is given in RED. Here i came to know that object swapping is not enough. How to solve this ?

I gave 32.5 GB as page memory.

ECC6 with MSSQL 2005.

Hi Lee,

Normally you should give more value for Program Buffer in DEV server since swapping will keep appearing once a new program loaded to the program buffer.

You can analyze your buffer and memory parameter by referring to note 88416-Zero Administration Memory Management.

Zero Administration Management will not help you with buffer configuration, don't mix that up.

ZAM is for configuring your extended memory (PHYS_MEMSIZE et al) but it will NOT do the buffer tuning since this can't be done automatically.

you are mixing up concepts here.

SAP swapping has nothing to do with OS swapping.

the program buffers and directory entries you showed look OK, you still have some free space for them.

what is your real problem?
