Hi,
DataSources relate to their source systems. In Business Content, the DataSources are defined for R/3. Considering the difficulties in the R/3 ETTL process, we can say that the R/3 DataSources in Business Content make data warehousing projects much easier and more manageable.
ods are also standard which suites the datasources. which r ready for use.

Hi,
Standard ODS, simply say it is transparent(application) table in R/3.It is flat struture.overwrite option is there, which cube doesn't.It is used for document level(Operational) reporting.
Transactional ODS - Used mostly in SEM system(write access possible).

Saran

Standard ODS would have all necessary InfoObjects to hold the fields from a standard R/3 datasource.
It is advisable to use Standard ODS if it suits your requirement.
