changing P&L Account type for P&L GL account

Hi All,

our customer having two P&L Account Type..now we needs change P&L accounttype for depreciation GL accounts...can anyone suggest how to change P&L account type for Live System...thanks in advance.....

Pranav,

Your question is a little confusing - Are you saying that you want to change the reconciliation account on a customer master data ? or are you mentioning that you want to change the account to which the depreciation is posted, when you run a depreciation run on an asset ?

One thing to note is while changing the account of a customer/vendor - You have to make sure that the balance of account is zero.

here our customer means Client...and users are created some profit and loss GL accounts with wrong P&L account type (means retained earnings GL)..we have two retained earnings accounts those are called P&L account types...for Eg:- X - retained earning account is XXXXXX001 and

Y- retained earnings account is XXXXXX002..

when u create P&L account system we hv to specify what is the P&L account type and our users created with X instead of Y...

and how to change the P&L account type for existing GL (i.e.P&L) some transactions are already posted....please advice....thanks in advance...thanks for your reply..

Account types are classified as PL or Balance Sheet.

You want to change from PL to BS??

Or do you want to change the "Account Group" of a PL account type?
