Hi Koti,

Datawarehouse is used to support forecasting and decision-making processes across the enterprise. It acts as a centralized repository of an organization's data, ultimately providing a comprehensive and homogenized view of the organization.

SAP BW is a datawarehouse tool developed by SAP.

There are many other Datawarehouse tools like Informatica Etc.

In a nutshell -

SAP BW is SAP's data warehouse product offering. The main features of SAP BW are generally considered to be:

- the integration that it provides with R3 (extractors, content, etc).

- integration of the BI tools with SAP BW and with SAP's other offerings, such as Portal and Knolwedge Management.

With many other Data Warehouses, you have to purchase separate ETL tools, BI tools, Meta Data management, etc, but SAP provides a reasonably complete product, eliminating the need to have to purchase third party products.
