Dear SDN Community,
Every time I use only Body page while designing a PDF in Life cycle designer. What is the purpose of the master page and can I have more than one Body page and Master page. Can you please share your thoughts here.
Thanks!
Surya.
Hi Surya,
Master pages should have static objects like header or footer which need to appear in all the output pages but body pages should have dynamic data like records fetched from the table which varying in consequent pages.
we can have multiple master pages and body pages in a layout.

Prakash

Hi Surya,
Go to hierarchy tab and right click on Master pages and create a new master page, and below that u can see data field in a subform showingas page 1,right click on that and create a new body page.
Now you have two pages which will get displayed but you want to have different static text in this pages.Go to the new master page add any test say "TEST".
Click on page 2 body page and go to object->subform,here just make Place as "On page "page2" ".
In the output you will find two page with diiferent output.
If you have single body page and want diiferent text in the next page, just keep Place as "FOLLOW PREVIOUS" and After as "GO TO content Area "name of content area of second master page" ".
Hope this calrifies the use of master and body page.
Regards,
Prakash
Hello Surya,
Genreally Master pages are designed to comply AIF with branding like header/footer of company, logo, water marks, page size and type, boundry of the page and page setup(potrait / landscape). Generally, positions of the fileds in the AIF remains constant.
Where as fields in the Body Page can be dynamic. Flow of the body page can be configured by using the "content type' of the subform. pagination can be implemented in the body page based on the volume of data to be populated.
Hope, this clarifies the difference between a Master page and body page in AIF.
Regards,
Debasish
