Archiving of SOFM objects / TA SOY8 / Report RSSOAPUT

Hi all

Report RSSOAPUT allows to store SAP office documents in a content repository rather then the SAP database. But the report considers only types RAW and SCR. We want to archive EXT document (in SAP CRM 5.0). It is quite simple to copy the report and include the EXT document type but we are not sure about the implications.

Does any know why the standard report is limit to RAW, SCR? Has someone extended it to other document types?

Thanks

Michael

Hi Michael,

We are trying to archive SAP office data using the report RSSOAPUT but not sure where how to specify the configuration for storing the data in third party server( We are using IXOS). Could you please help us with the procedure to do it?

Thanks and regards,

The answer is:

SAP Office documents (expect for text documents) are stored using KPRO. Using the KPRO transactions it is possible to store these documents in a ArchiveLink archive rather then SAP database:

1. Create logical archive OAC0

2. Create new storage category OACT

3. Link class SOFFPHIO to the new category in transaction SKPR08

Remark: It is important to consider the backup strategy now if SAP Office documents are stored in a separate system!

Hello Michael,

the binar documents are as of release 4.6 already in the knowlage provider, so a direct archiving is not meaningful.

Check SAP note:
