R/3 Roles within the Portal

Hi All

We are planning to upgrade to the Poratl and we currently have four 'stand alone ' systems, SRM, CRM HR/Payroll, and a Financial Management system. Each of these systems has its own set of roles and authorisations which are created and maintained in each backend system.

If we introduced the portal would there still be a requirement to create and maintain the roles in each backend system or are all roles created/amended within the protal therefore significantly reducing maintenance.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,

Portal is just a fronted system. You will still need to maintain the roles in the backend systems. Portal will be a unique link to the functionalities in your backend systems. The data or functions you will be able to execute will depend on the access you have in the backend systems.
