Hi..

1) How do you backup script layout sets?

You can download(Export) the layout set to a File in OS using the Standard Report RSTXSCRP. Same report can also be used from Importing.

2) What type of variables normally used in script to o/p data?

There are 4 types of Variables(Symbols)

1. Program symbols: i.e Variables in print program

2. System symbols : Runtime values of system like &Date&, &page&

3. Standard symbols: Stored in table TTDTG

4. Text symbols: created using the DEFINE command

3) How do you use tabsets in layouts?

By creating a Paragraph format with TAB positions.
