hi ,

On which database?

I am referring to DEV being refreshed from Prodn database

In windows I basically do a sql restore, then subsequent BASIS configs etc.

For DEV, it means delete and recreate and re-link the Transport directories

Hi

I mean to say system copy(copy of data from PRD to QAS).

I would like to do a refresh of DEV/QAS on windows2003

Do you have procedures to follow for this.

Also, many SAP BASIS highly discourage refresh of DEV from Production, as in most cases this is the transport controller, etc.

Is this true, then what is the workaround to get DEV cleaned up ?

As mentioned already - http://service.sap.com/systemcopy

Delete TMS configuration from all affected systems and recreate it.

Correct., for the times I have done a refresh of DEV from PRODN, I have had to delete the TMS and reconfigure it.

SO why is it not SAP recommendation to refresh DEV., is it basically version control?

It's not reccomended to refresh dev because on DEV there is all the development.

If you want to refresh DEV and mantain version program you must apply oss note 130906.
