Hi APO Experts,
We are experiencing a situation wherein a Raw Material which has been
included/planned in APO and have a resource reflected on its DepDmd (dependent
demand). There should be no capacity or resource assigned to this
dependent demand of the Raw material as it was externaly procured. Can someone please provide information why do we have this in the product view?
The scenario is we have a Finished product which have a resource and
attached to the finished product is a phantom material. This phantom
material has a different resource from the finished product. Finally,
attached to the phantom material is a Raw Material. This Raw material
also have a resource which is the same with the Phantom material but
different with its Finished product.
Thanks in advance.
Raymond

Hi Raymond - Check if the resource a handling resource and if there is GR/GI time associated with that product.

Create a Handling Resource (Single-Mixed type) in APO using transaction /SAPAPO/RES01. Maintain appropriate Factory Calendar and Start / End Time (typically 24 hours).
After creation of the resource in Planning Version 000 assign it in the Location Master under Handling Resource Inbound (can put for Outbound also so that for GI scheduling it is used) under Resource tab.

Hi Raymond - I think the GR is causing your problem but the missing handling resource is strange. Try removing the GR time from the product master and creating a new order to trigger a new demand on the raw material. Then see if the resource disappears for that demand. I believe that if the GR is required then so too will be the resource.
