Client Copy Steps

I want to take a client copy for our solution manager system , kindly give the steps for creating client copy .

Thanks , i will parameter change and sap * is now login form the newly created client , But am not able to create logical system . sap* was not allowd to create logical system .

what i have to do create logical system before taking client copy ?

Dear Selvan,

Please login to 001 client using sap* .There create a new user with sap_all and sap_new

profile.Then using that user please try to create a logical client and assign that to the newly created client from 001 cleint.

Ya its now working , one small doubt . How to give Logical system name . Shall i give any type of alpha numeric names ?

Use the following format

<SID>CLN<Client no>

eg: SOLCLN100

I done that , sap * password reseted as pass , Now am able to login as sap* in to the new client , But am not able to create logical system using tcode SALE .

Hi Selven,

Goto the Transaction RZ11->u can give the parameter as Login* then press enter key it will displays a list of parameters starting with Login,from that u have to choose login/no_automatic_user_sapstar then set the value to "o"

ok , after creating a new client 100 using scc4 . Atfer that i try to login as sap* with password pass to the newly created client . But am not able to login . It shows username and password incoreect .

What i have to do ?

Hi,

check the value for the for the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar

in the instance profile or in default profle from client 001.if the value is "1" then please change it to "0".

Also if the parameter is not there,the add the parameter

"<b>login/no_automatic_user_sapstar</b>" with value as "<b>0</b>"

And restart the instance.Then try to login to the client using SAP*

I try lto create logical system in SALE , but it says obiect editing error . sap* not allowd to edit .

what i will do ?

Hi,

You are trying to edit the new client ..rite???

SALE>Basic Settings>Logical Systems>Define Logical system>New entries-->Enter the name with the format <SID>CLN<Client no>

Try this in the newly created client.

Our solman version is 4.0 and kernel 700_REL . I have one doubt logical system creation is mandatory for client copy ?

Hi,

Logical client creation is not mandatory for client copy.

But in future you need to create logical system.

So better do it now with the transaction SALE

>Base settings>Logical Systems>Define logical system>there u can create logical system.

Hi,

Which version of solution manager you are using.

If it is solman4(700,710 kernel)make sure that you are copying the 001 client

Also please follow the steps mentioned in Bidwasns reply.
