Chaning the depreciation key in exisitng asset

Hi

Is it possible to change the depreciation key for an asset which has already been created and manual depreciation posted to it. We have tried to change but the depreciation key is shown in the display mode.

We have also tried to change the config of dep key and saved the dep key. But the system is not showing the planned values as per the new config of dep key. We have not run any dep cycle for the asset.

Hi Sanil,

As far as i know, It is possible to change the dep key eventhough the manual depreciation has been posted to it.

The depreciation key that shown in the display mode like you said, Is it also happen for depreciation area 01? I meant , the depreciation key for depreciation area =01 also cannot be changed?

I have changed the depreciation for book depreciation also for that asset class but still the system is showing the old values

hi,

1. You can change the depreciation key in the Asset master (AS02) even if manual entries have been posted to it.

2. Now if your values are appearing correctly in Asset Explorer in planned data

then you need to run AFAB again and remove the "Test Only" check and run it

again for the values to be posted.

Hi,

In ur asset master check whether the new depreciation key is there or not?

If not use the tcode AO21 and change it and then check.
