Hello experts,

Is it possible to install DI usage type on the J2EE Engine running Portal (e.g Development Portal). This Development Portal has enough space and memory for NWDI..I would like to know if it's possible to configure NWDI on the same server as Development Portal...

Thanks for suggestions.

Regards,

R.D

hey Robert

Good Day !!!

Yes, it is possible to install DI on ur Development Portal as an Add-on

if u have enough space & memory on your development portal.

wel, sa per sap standards, u should have a standalone DI server in your landscape, but for highly availability of DI server sap also recommends to install it on production portal of your landscape

wel, its all depends on you and your landscape so as to how to utilize your optimum resources.

however, YES you can install NWDI server on your development portal in your landscapes

I'm quite sure that SAP does NOT recommend to install DI on your production Portals, because this would be a really stupid thing to do: Deployments triggered by NWDI can potentially cause a restart of the target runtime system. Now what if you were developing components for your Portal that require a restart of the server? What happens if you would deploy this to production? Right, it would restart the server, together with the NWDI running on it, but that is still running a deployment process....!

To make a long, boring story short: Try to install NWDI on a standalone server, not on any of your existing Java stacks.
