Different between KEI2 and OKB9

Hi All,

Anybody can help me...Whats the different/function for tcode <b>KEI2-Maintain PA Transfer Structure</b> and <b>OKB9-Change Automatic Account Assignment</b>. Whats the conditions/criteria if I need to maintain the G/L accnt at both tcode? Let say If I maintain that G/L accnt at KEI2, is it necessary to maintain at OKB9 as well?

Hi,

Both are having altogether different fucntionality

1. KEI2 : it is used for assigning to different to value fields in COPA. By this asignment you are creating link how the data will post to COPA

For Ex/ when you settle the prodcution order the variance will settle to PA segment. Here you make link between sorce( cost element groups) to value fields category wise.

2. OKB9 is finding an acount assignment. when you do a logistic/financail transaction if system will not find any cost object then you generally assign the cost element here.

You must be familliar with common error " cost element requires cost object "

Generally we take the help of OKB9 to get out of that type of error
