How MDM connects to R/3, EP and XI?

How MDM connects to R/3, Portal, and XI, and how will we make the necessary connections and customizations, as needed for the client.

SAP gives some standard content for integrating MDM with R/3 using XI.i.e. Standard extractor programs in R/3 for extracting Master Data from R/3 system and standard integration scenarios in PI are also provided by SAP to integrate MDM with R/3 and BW system. You can use that standard content.

You can also use standard iViews for displaying Master data stored in MDM on Portal.

Hi,

MDM connects with R3 with the use of XI (middleware)

MDM -> XI (with files)

XI -> R3 (IDOCs or abap proxies)

for MDM you need to consigure import server (which will import files from XI)

or MDM syndicator - that will output files from MDM

with XI you need to configure file adapter and IDOC adapter
