Hello All,

Since we have the same issue with our new portals 7.0 SPS14 installation,

I have opened an message on SAP MarketPlace to report the error.

Hi Stephane,

Did SAP provide you any solution for this problem as we are having the same problem.

Anyone know the answer to this or have a good understanding of the cause?

I am also having the same problem on a NW7 SP13 landscape (SAP Portal and backend FI and HR systems).

We've just hit this in our pre-production go-live testing.

We are at SP13 on EP

Has anyone identified the root cause and solution to this?

Hello,

SAP delivered a new Note to a similar issue . You can check.

Note 1148886 - Large HTTP error messages cause High CPU on Dispatcher

Hi,

It sounds like a J2EE connections leak.

You should check out note # 902498 - it contains a patch for SP14, but you may find patches for previous versions as well as it seems this problem appears in other versions as well.

Good luck,

Yoni

Hi guys

We are running a EP 7.0. We have external clients connecting from the internet through a 3rd party application gateway / reverse proxy. We have the problem that this gateway responds with 'service unavailable' while direct http(s) connections to the portal work without problem.

Now i noticed the same messages in the dispatcher default trace.

2008-02-07 17:40:55:155 Connection 300800 is NOT removed! serverToConnections = ... 2008-02-07 17:40:55:154 Exception occurred while closing connection. EXCEPTION java.net.SocketException: Socket already closed.... 2008-02-07 17:40:55:154 Cannot get input and output streams from socket. ConnectionsManipulator is not initialized. EXCEPTION java.io.EOFException: Connection closed by remote host....

I do not have a solution here, but i list some information on our system, so you can compare it to your environnements.

- Enterprise Portal 7.0 SP13

- our network guys observed a lot of tcp connections from the gateway to the portal with status CLOSE_WAIT

- they also observed the portal sending a RST tcp packet instead of FIN (or FIN_ACK?)

- the application gateway runs on Sun Solaris the portal on Linux x86_64

- connection uses https

The issue is very obscure, we are trying to tcpdump and decrypt the data, but no luck so far.

Best regards, Michael

I am experiencing the same set of symptoms. If I refresh the page after this error the portal comes up just fine. This is very hit or miss with about 1 in 5 attempts coming up with an error. Has anyone found a cause or a solution for this?
