Unlocking XCM

Hi Experts

While creating XCM setting i opened two instances & put one in edit mode , it was closed by mistake before it could have been set to display mode.

after closing all instances of XCM & relogin into XCM , i cannot edit any of the configuration & it gives a message as

<b>"Configuration is already locked for Edit by another User. Please wait for some time for other user to finish Edit operation "</b>

is there is any option to unlock XCM configuarion without Reatsrting that web Application ?

You can go to SAP NetWeaver Administrator (../nwa/) and you will find below the tab "Troubleshooting" the page "Locks". There you see a list of all locks in the system, just find your lock related to XCM and remove it. Once this is done, you will be able to switch into edit mode again.

Hi,

Yes , U need to restart the Java server.

More over u can do this from GUI itself.. go to transaction SMICM..

On the Administration tab.. u have soft shut down with restart.

Hi Ravi

I dont think you will be able to unlock XCM.

Either you should wait for some time (which i doubt will solve the issue)

or restart the web application. You can perform the soft restart.
