Hello Markus,

Danke for your reply, I have attached the output as you asked. Please have a look.

/sapdb/data/config/Databases.ini OUTPUT

bash-3.00# cat Databases.ini

[Databases]

SSD=/sapdb/SSD/db

.M760307=/sapdb/SSD/db

.M760035=/sapdb/SSQ/db

SSQ=/sapdb/SSQ/db

bash-3.00#

So if you deleted your SSQ data files you need to take out that line with SSQ in it. Then sapinst won't try again to find out the root path of the database installation.

I suggest to copy the file as a backup to some other name and then delete the lines

.M760035=/sapdb/SSQ/db

SSQ=/sapdb/SSQ/db

Then restart your sapinst.

It may be necessary to start sapinst from scratch since it already has that information stored in keydb.xml.

Hello Markus,

Danke for your reply, Actually when i was trying to install the quality server on the same server, first time it went through later i got some error interittantly. so it went upto IMPORT ABAP stage last week what i have done is i have cleared all the datas from my quality SID. i restarted the fresh installation so now there is no SSQADM account and groups. when the time of installation i will create of the sid users and assigning groups. Now max db it self not recognizing from the Dump and the same error i got again.

Caught ESAPinstException in Modulecall: ESAPinstException: error text undefined

No there is no SSQSID in my system OS level.

How to fix the problem now? do i need to Diff SID and mount points?

Please look of the mount points which i have created

/dev/md/dsk/d22 15G 15M 15G 1% /usr/sap/SSQ

/dev/dsk/c1t2d0s4 20G 20M 19G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/saparch

/dev/md/dsk/d31 34G 35M 34G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/sapdata4

/dev/md/dsk/d30 34G 35M 34G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/sapdata3

/dev/dsk/c1t2d0s5 20G 20M 19G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/saplog1

/dev/md/dsk/d29 34G 35M 34G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/sapdata2

/dev/md/dsk/d28 34G 35M 34G 1% /sapdb/SSQ/sapdata1

/dev/md/dsk/d23 9.8G 10M 9.7G 1% /sapmnt/SSQ

What do you have in the file

/sapdb/data/config/Databases.ini

Your problem appears to me as follows:

sapinst detects, that there is already an instance running (through the shared configuration files in /usr/spool/sql) and tries to evaluate the database version.

While doing that, it fails because there´s no database environment given.

What do you get when you execute the command

/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -R /sapdb/SSQ/db dbm_version

as root on command line?

Just as a remark (and my EUR 0.02):

Solaris 10 has a wonderful virtualization concept - zones. You would save a lot of trouble with that "double installation" if you would create a zone for your QA system, with a different "zoned" filesystem, different hostname and different IP.
