Unable to view data in preview function.

I am currently working on BW 3.5 and trying to load a standard cube from a flat file stored on my machine.

But when i preview the file it displays the structure(field name) correctly but does not display the content, also some fields are populated with 0.00 values which i have not provided.

Please help.

Check the flatfile - Open it with Notepad and see whats with the data.

the flat file is an Excel file and i saved it with extension .csv

The settings on External Data tab are as follows :

Load data from workstation.

Data File

CSV File

Data Separator ;

Escape Sign "

Currency conv checked.

I can open the file but cannot view its content in preview.

Please help.

Hi,

How you separate your data by , or by ; i think its , so put this one in data separator field and try to view the data. open you file in notepad to know which one you used to separate the data.

weather you created a .csv file format and also check file path you are mentioned.

Are u loading .CSV or ASCII File ?

If it is excel then changeit to CSV file
