Hi Lakshmi,

Actually u can do FIFO concept in Batch Management.

same as Rlease startegy u have to create characteristics t code; CT04

For Example

if u r doing it for tablet the characteristics may be 1. shape of the tablet(round, oval etc.) 2. wieght( .25 mg , .50 mg etc) 3. SLED(Shelf Life Expiration Date)

Then create class T code CL02& assign the characters in this class.

At material amster extend classification view and give the created class.

then Plant data/ storage view enter the min rem shelf life in days and total shelf life in days.

Then maintain the condition Record using t code MBC1.

Then create Short rule using the t code CU70 where in u can specify either FIFO or LIFO through selectin ascending or discending .

So while issuing the material based on the expiry date of the material the system will propose as per sort rule set .

Hi lakshmi

this is an out line only.when u try if u face any problem then ask particularly so that i can guide u better.

Hi Lakshmi,

In inventory management you can issue goods according to FIFO if you use batch management & suitable batch determination (I think).

Hi Lakshmi,

You cannot maintain FIFO w/o a WM.I think FIFO is also not available under batch management. But there is a concept called SLED(Shelf Life Expiration Date) if the same is activated for a material in Plant data/ storage view enter the min rem shelf life in days and total shelf life in days. Then you have to create a Batch Search strategy for Mvttype/Plnt/Matno combination in tcode MBC1 and activate it.So while issuing the material based on the expiry date of the material the system will propose the same for issuing. For ex if a GR is been made for two milk packets with one having 180 days shelf life and the other having 200 days and if the same is being issued to an order the system checks for the expiry and selects the first packet having 180 days shelf life which will definitely expire first and then in the second issue it will select the packet having 200 days life.Hope this helps
