What an SAP basis guy can do on MDM?

Just wonder if people can tell me as a basis guy, what should I

know to support an MDM project?

I found one document which describes the roles while working on MDM project.

In a Glance (in above document At page 25. I think)

Role Definitions – Customer Resources

Project Manager:

�� Responsible for traditional project management activities

Master Data Manager:

�� Responsible for controlling the master data management process (for example, initial

data loads, creating, maintaining, and distributing master data across various

landscapes)

Master Data Specialist:

�� Responsible for supporting the Master Data Manager in the processing of master

data (for example, matching data, maintaining specific object data, etc.), process

SME – understands the master data objects

Master Data Administrator:

�� Responsible for performing administrative, technical and customizing tasks in the

MDM environment (i.e. system administration, technical monitoring, other technical

and administrative tasks), technical application person, configuration responsibilities,

counterpart to the solution consultant

hi,

basis guy can install MDM server and the DB

and then administer it + create/maintain authorizations on MDM
