ABp and Can we create our own Material Type?

Hi,

Some one please explain what is Allow Back Posting (ABp), where and how to use it?

Can we create our own material type (eg: FERT, HAWA etc).

FOR CREATING YOUR OWN MATERIAL TYPES

ABP IS USED IN OMSY TCODE WHERE WE WILL HAVE OPTION TO CHECK BOX

IF U DONOT WANT TO ALLOW POSTING TO THE PREVIOUS PERIOD U MUST REMOVE THE CHECK BOX IF THE CHECK BOX IS TICKED IT WILL ALLOW FOR BACK PEROD POSTING

1.For your first question on ABp(Allow Backward Posting) , you find this indicator in OMSY transaction.

<b>Allow Posting to Previous Period (Backposting)</b>

This Indicator if checked allows posting to the previous period (backposting). In this case, the previous period is the preceding month.

If you do not want to allow posting to the previous period, you must cancel the indicator (if set in OMSY). Please note, however, that the indicator is set again automatically during period closing, reallowing posting to the previous period.

2.Coming to your second Question.

You can create your own Material Types using T code OMS2.
