availability check at storage location

Hi,

I hava an issue with availability check in sales order. The storage location is mandatory. If I mainian stocks at storage location A and if mention A in sales order, sales order is confirmed. If I use storage location B where there is NO stock, order fails.

I would like to know, if I enter storage loaction in sales order, whether it checks only at storage location level. Does it not check both at storage location and plan level?

It depends on how you have defined your check control on APO side. Check control is visible under Product Availablity check in SPRO and maps Business Events (such as Sales Order creation event A with ATP Group). Check what ATP Group is the Location product mapping to in R/3 in one of the MRP tabs. If you look carefully in SPRO for the check control entry there is a check box to deactivate storage location check. By default the check does happen at storage location level.

So net net it is controlled by master data setups.
