HI Manas,

In simple words SLD is the data storage( directory) of IR and ID.

We make softwere component version in SLD which is impoted by IR.

We put this softwere component version in Technical System then Business System in SLD, which is used in ID.

so every thing is connected and the basic information is inside SLD.

hope this will clear your problem.

Hi Honey

I got ur point but I am not getting this point...

We put this softwere component version in Technical System then Business System in SLD, which is used in ID.

What is the technical system. In SLD we registere only the business system in SLD.Is there any difference between technical system and business system..

hi manas,

>>><i>What is the technical system. In SLD we registere only the business system in SLD.Is there any difference between technical system and business system..</i>

Technical system is entry of a system. Consider a server system with xx.xx.xx.xx as IP address where you have installed the SAP System and you have installed the database xyz and so on.

this is system details, these parameters need to entered inorder for XI to identify the system. This technical system entry

Business system is different from technical system, business system will be present on the technical system, Consider the above technical system and you have installed SAP module and you know there will many clients in SAP system each system is logical system that will be present over the technical system hence these logical system had to be entered in SLD in order to make the communication which is nothing but the business system.

hope you got things clear

Hi

>>What is the technical system.

Technical systems are application systems using this u can manage data in SLD.

It tells about the element type that the system contains, like <i>Web AS ABAP and Web AS Java systems</i>

Most of the application system report automatically element type they contain. We will be creating technical system for <i>Thirsdparty system and Standalone java systems</i>

hi MANAS,

well, when we make any softwere component version in SLD, we have to assign this softwere component version to a technical system, and then this technical system assign to a Business System.

In SLD when you go for <b>Create Business System</b>, you have to follow some steps and fouth step is<b> Assigning Technical System</b>.

When you go for <b>Create Technical System</b> it will ask for <b>softwere component version</b>

Now the question is what is the <b>need of Create Business System</b> :

<b>In ID there are many scenario where we have to go for Business System , Business services are not sufficient.</b>

Defination of Business system n Technical system you can see in other answers , they defined it very well.

hope this will help .

The integration repository and directory connect to the SLD via the SLD Data Supplier in the Visual Admin Console.

Also, you set the connections up from the local ExchangeProfile of the XI Server.

All you ever needed to know about the connections to the SLD is in this Problem Analysis guide is here:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/78/20244134a56532e10000000a1550b0/content.htm

The connectivity can be tested in the Visual Admin after entering the URL and user id, and initiating the test conneciton icons for both the SLD and CIM data transfers.

You can check the ABAP to Java connections from SM59 and testing the LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI connections.

ALso, run SLDCHECK to check the full inter-operability of the ABAP to Java to SLD.

Hi,

For checking the same you need to follow the below steps:

Testing the connectivity between Integration Repository and SLD:

Start the Integration Repository as described in the previous chapter. Go to ‘Tools’ -> ‘Transfer from System

Landscape Directory’ -> ‘Import Software Component Versions’

This test is successful if you can see a list of Software Component Versions.

Testing the connectivity between Integration Directory and

Integration Repository:

Start the Integration Directory Go to ‘Tools’ -> ‘Transfer Integration Scenario

from Integration Repository’. Then use the F4-Help for the Field ‘Name’.

This test is successful if you can see a list of Integration Scenarios from the Integration Repository.

Hi,

In Addition to all these posts, IR and ID use their own users at internal levels.

IR uses XIREPUSER and ID uses XIDIRUSER to interact with SLD.Also to interact with IS, ID uses XIISUSER. All these information about user is provided by the administrator at the time of XI installation. According to these users we also need to provide the roles. You can use SU01 TCode to change the roles for these users.

hi manas,

in SLD we create SWCVs ,Business System

we use the SWCV in IR.we need to import the SWCV from SLD to IR

similerly we need to import the Business System from SLD to ID...

They are connected in JAVA stack

actually SLD works as a server for XI.

better u look @ these threads

Sld and XI:

http://www.sappro.com/downloads/nov06/XIandSLD.pdf

SLD defined separately

Also look @ this

hi manas,

XI is basically a client of SLD. Hence the components you mentioned IR and ID have a frequent access to SLD. Why?

because SLD is a central repository of information about systems and software in the data center, therefore IR and ID need to be connected to SLD for proper communication and message processing.

Check these links for more information

Manas,

The SLD acts as a server for application business system names for the receiver

determination in the Integration Directory. Therefore, all business systems must

be available in one master SLD if you need to send messages from a business

system in Region 1 to a receiver system in Region 2.

• The SLD acts as a server for application business system names for application

systems to get their own business system name (Java Proxy Framework and

SAP systems).

• The SLD provides the transport targets for Integration Directory content

transports, such as from a business system in a development environment to a

business system in a test environment.

• The SLD provides all systems and adapters for the end-to-end monitoring in the

Runtime Workbench assigned to an Integration Server.

• The SLD provides the address for the transfer of adapter configuration data from

the Integration Directory to the adapter cache.

• The SLD contains functions for software component version management.

Sarvesh
