BPM scenario madantory for RFC/Bapi calls ?

Hi XI Experts,

I'd like to know if BPM scenario is mandatory to do this in a "file to Idoc" scenario :

case #1 :

=> I want to determine a value in Idoc segment field (during mapping) based on return code of an RFC (or Bapi) call to an existing ECC system.

case #2 :

=> I want to determine Idoc message type (in message interface determination), based on return code of an RFC (or Bapi) call to an existing ECC system.

Thanks a lot

Best regards

Etienne

Case 1 : Use RFC Lookup and avoid the BPM.

Case 2 : If my understanding is correct you need to make the Inbound Interface dynamic on the basis of a BAPI call. One option : Write a module that perfroms this call and then set a flag in the source payload that can be used in the Interface Determination condirtion etc.

Hello Bhavesh,

My understanding is that case #1 & #2 can be realized without BPM.

So : Thanks a lot.
