Quality Assurance increases the quality and the availability of the production systems by letting you check requests in the QA system before they are delivered to subsequent systems.
The system for which the QA approval procedure is activated is called the QA system. When the QA approval procedure is activated, transport requests are only forwarded to the delivery systems if all the QA approval steps are processed for each request in the QA system and each request has been approved. (When you configure the QA system, you determine how many QA approval steps have to be processed for each request.) If a check for an approval step is not successful, the entire request cannot be approved.

Following is the sequence of maintaining master data in Quality Module -
1) Maintain material Master data - Here in Quality Management tab, you maintain the inspection type(s) to be used for the material. e.g. GR for purchase Order. Maintain all the required options e.g. post to inspection stock, characteristics required, inspection with task list.
2) Maintain Sampling Scheme & Sampling procedure - Maintain your sampling scheme as per your inspection plan & maintain the sam in sampling procedure. You can also use options 100% sampling, %age sampling, Fixed sample.
3) Maintain Work Center - Here you will perform the quality inspection
4) Maintain Production Resource Tools you will be using for the inspection plan.
5) Maintain Inspection Method - Detailed description of inspection method.
6) Quality Info Record - Maintain the details of Quality for the Vendor for the specific material. e.g. vendor's QM system for the material, source inspection etc.
7) Inspection Plan - Maitain the details of characteristics to be inspected & it's limits.
