How to create USERS for ESS and how to link them with sap system

If you are using ECC system as portal ume. then all you have to do is. just attach these users to any exisitng employee(create infotype 105 for them) and you will be able to access them..

if portal and R/3 are using seperate user base then there are two possibilties..

1) if user ids are same then you can create a SSO with R/3 system and create a IT0105 record for valid employee

2) if user ids are different then map r/3 user id and password in portal for user mapping for r/3 system

Have you connected to your ABAP UME?

If so you can create new users for the portal through the transaction HRUSER in your R3 system. This will create a person with a HR record a user, role and give them a communication user.
