Hi,

Modified records 'M' in the master table gets activated when Attribute change run is perform(Tools->Apply hierarchy/Attribute....). Then only changes effect in BEx report otherwise not.

Hi

Activate master data refers to the concept of the infoobjects that were newly created,we have to activate them,if we want to use them any where in BI for example in creation of infocube.

Change run refers to the concept of to get the newly activated master data affected in the aggregates which will be created on the cube.

Hi,

When ever there is change in master data it will reflect in M version,In order to convert the M version data to A versron data we will do change run, For Example

For an Costcenter assume there is an attribute of person responsible

Cost center person Version

K001 James A

Assume that person responsible got changed from JAMES to THOMAS for the respective costcenter

Now data will come in

K001 THOMAS M.

So for converting M version data to A version We will do change Run

After Change run ,

K001 Thomas A.

There is another field CHANGED( U can observe entry marked for deletion/insertion)

The available data when you try to access the master data info object is MAster Data.

You could set the parameters to run the change run always , after a load of the master data Info object , using a process chain.

Hope this helps

Activating Master Data - > If there are no Aggregates on the IO.

Change Run - > If the IO attributes are used in the Aggregates.
