Account assignment

Hi,

Im new to SAP, can you please tell me what is meant by valuation class and account assignment category.

Hi Raj,

The valuation class is a group of materials with the same account determination.The valuation classes allowed depend on the material type.this is used for the G/L account determination.we assign the valuation class to the material type thru account category reference in the customizing setting.

account assignment category is mainly used for the consumable goods,

ie, to which account the cost must get associated

whether to the cost center,Asset,Order,Project

etc.
