Hi Naresh,

You said, you are able to connect through GUI from local system, but not able to connect using other systems.

What is the O.S on other systems?

Check the compatability of OS and GUI 640.

I have a doubt if XP supports GUI 640.

Apply the latest patches for GUI 640.

I hope this helps.

Hi All,

Please specify the error clearly. What I infered is: you guys are using SAP GUI(Frontend) 6.40 to connect to SAP server.Am I right?

If yes, then check first if SAP server is running or not.

check the information you have given in GUI to connect to the server,like..I.P,System # etc.

reply back.

Hi,

Please add I.P address and hostname of the SAP server in the hosts file of your O.S.

Still the same problem! But I wonder if there is a specific service installed in the machine which is liked to SAP application?

Hi Vikas,

Sorry for incomplete message. I just installed the WAS ABAP sneak preview on a desktop with 1gb ram and XP Operating system. It is working fine on that local machine and i am able to login from SAP GUI 640 from local machine, but i am unable to access it from other machines. I have checked the host files and also the services file of the machine and all the entries are proper.

Hi Christophe Blineau,

I am my companies LAN. the connectivity is proper as i am able to connect to other servers in the domain properly.

Best Regards,

Naresh
