Hi,
I developed client proxy in WAS 6.4 to consume a web service.
I dont have any security in my WSDL. even i can access this webservice using internet explorer. But when i try to test this client proxy or when i am trying to execute from SE80, it is asking me for user name and password. i am not sure what user name password it is asking for. i checked Authentication in Preconfiguration tab. there in authintication level i have 'NONE' radio button selected. Even i checked port under LPCONFIG transaction. in WS security i dont have any values for profile in and profile out; They are empty.
I am not sure why it is asking me for username/password. Please help me.
Thanks Everybody...
my issue resolved...
we have to register our SAP system IP in web service provider.
Actually they restricted the access by IP's.
just we added our SAP system IP in the providers system, problem solved..
thanks every one....

Hi Friends,
I am sorry, my last statement was wrong.. it is not executing successfully in back ground. just it was ignoring the popup and displaying the last write statement ( just 'hello' statement ). It was not returning any thing in the result table.
To answer Dhurairajs question, It is not a public webservice. and the popup title is 'Enter Log on Data' . In side the popup window i have 'Enter your user name and ID' text and then Resource User name and password input fields.
Olivier, actually the WSDL is not apeaking anything about the authintication.

Ashok,
The wsdl does not speak aboutr athentication because you authenticate against a HTTP server and not a web service.
You have to speak with people from the team administering the web service server.
They will know what type of authentication is needed.
One other way may be to increase the trace level of the ICM and after a trial to check the trace file.
You will most likely find messages about authentication and which type is needed.
Good luck !
Olivier
I sheduled the calling program in background. It executed successfully.
I guess it is something to do with authorizatin. But i am not sure what authorization it requires.

Hi,
If I understand well your question, your web service is an abap function module published as a web service ?
If yes, when you call this web service, you execute the abap function module and therefore you need an abap user for that.
So the system is asking you for a valid abap user/password.
Of course this user should have a role giving it the right to execute the function module.

Olivier

Hi Olivier,
actually there is a third party web service.
I can invoke the web service from internet explorer. It is not asking any user name or password.
Now i am trying to call that web service from ABAP. when i execute my web service program it is prompting for username/password window. I am trying to give my SAP user name and password, but it is not working.
Hi Ashok,
You have to give the userid and password of the system in which u r testing the webservice its not sap userid and password.
