DISP+WORK.exe process shutsdown

Former Member
0 Kudos

Hi Guys,

I been facing this problem for almost 2 days now, and I

searched online a lot... but can't really solved this issue.

When I start SAPMMC and start the server, all the processes load.

msg_server, dispwork and igswd, but after 2 mins the DISPWORK process

shutsdown... I have no clue why.

another thing is that I can't even get into my Oracle database, the database pwd

I set while installation is not recogination. if that is the problem how do I reset my pwd?

or how do I get the DISP+WORK process up and running?

this is what is in the dev_disp file...

Is the DB on a separate system? Have you tried logging directly into in on that box? Can you get into the DB at all?

Another thing to check is to see if another program is grabbing the port that the DB listener users. Use 'netstat -a -b' from the command line to see what ports are being used and the related programs.

- jph

no the DB is on the same system and I can't get into it...

I have the 'netstat -a -b' command and port 1521 was not even in there so i guess its not running?

Former Member

Yeah. That sounds correct. You might want to check the services to see if it (the listener) is setup to come up with the server. You might also want to check the event log for any failed services.

your Oracle listener is down or malfunctioning, try this command:

lsnrctl start

then, restart SAP

Former Member

yeah thats what I was think, I was able to login 2 days ago...

but something happened and now I can't get into the database either...

how do I reset the schema password?

I been searching no luck...

theres no firewall...

i just dont get it it was working in the morning the disp+work process stopped.

Another thing to check is to see if another program is grabbing the port that the DB listener uses. Use 'netstat -a -b' from the command line to see what ports are being used and the related programs.

Finally, do you have a backup of the DB? That might be the quickest fix.

From the last log it looks like your work processes are unable to log into the DB using the account info they have. Have you changed any of the accounts at the DB level? That would account for this failure.
