Hi experts,

I'm using NWDI since two months as a developer and as a post-installer.

According to your experiences, I would like to know when should we have to use NWDI ? With how many developers ? In which condition do we need NWDI ?

Thanks for your answers.

Regards

Hello Berthe,

You would use NWDI if you have the following conditions.

1. You need to customize some sap delivered functions like ESS/MSS. NWDI becomes your build and transport environment in this case.

2. The number of developers can range from 2 to n.

3. You need to be able to have versioning and release cycles of the product you are developing

Hope that helps

Abdul

Hi,

Thanks to answer

If we have a 5 members team, is it wise to have a JDI ? Regarding to your answer it is yes, but I heard that the JDI is used for big team. What do you think about it?

Kind Regards

My recommendation:

Always use NWDI if you intend to develop Java applications that will run on SAP NetWeaver systems. The need becomes even bigger if you intend to build Web Dynpro for Java applications. NWDI is the ideal solution for source versioning, central builds and transporting developed components through your NetWeaver landscape.
