Performance Problem-Getting huge Dump

Hi Guruz,

I am facing performanece issue in my Production Server. From the last mont end I am getting a lot of TIME_OUT dump though the number of users and processing are quite same.

The profile parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is not set so it is taking its default value of 600 secs.Mine is 4.6C with Oracle 8i.

Now my question is that is this parameter "rdisp/max_wprun_time" is a dynamic one means can any change of value to this parameter can take effect with restarting the Instance? I am having three instances here.

Please reply asap.

Regards,

Yes this parameter is dynamically switchable, means you can change values without a restart. But once you restart the server it will then back to the default.

Normally 600 sec will give you many TIME_OUT dumps because most of the cases manuy of the customer reports will take more than 10 min to execute.

You may need to look at the programs that causes this dump and analyze it to see what is going wrong. ST03N analysis can be a starting point.
