Hi Experts!!!

Have anyone tried the calendar application posted in SDN by Stefanie Bacher?

when I tried to open the program by downloading in my local, it gave errors as

"unbound classpath container com.sap.ide.cmi.classpathcontainer" and

"missing library......"

I also tried to create the application as described in the document. But

during designing the team calendar, I could not do no.6. Actually there is

no UI element called"HierarchicalCalendarMonthView".

There is no window like the one in the document when I do "insert child".

Can sombody please find out what I am going wrong here.

The Title of the tutorial is: Implementing a Calendar in Web Dynpro Java

web address is: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e012e6a2-8d21-2a10-1bb8-d9b606f3...

The NWDS version I am using is 7.0.11

I will be very thankful for your hints.

hi David,

thanks

Regarding backend access I would try for the newly introduced EJB model. You'll find a tutorial in Help Portal:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/f7f744aea471fae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

And there is an article here on SDN: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20b21892-c31c-2a10-f484-fcef1eaf...

Any feedback appreciated!

kind regards

Stefanie

This app definitely works if you install CE. I have tried the prepackaged example and have built the application from Stephanie's tutorial. For anyone out there looking for webdynpro based calendar, it's a very nice starting point.

The tutorial is very thorough and accurate.

Hi Bala and Stefaine,

I had posted my thread as question, hence there should be radio button to award points for your answer. But,I am not seeing the radio buttons.

Anything going wrong here?

Hi,

so it is! Bala is absolutely right. These UI elements are new within CE, you cannot see or use them in other releases. The other errors you get are also caused by the wrong release version.

kind regards

Stephanie -

I have implemented your calendar application from the tutorial and it is working nicely, however I now am interested in building persistence logic so that I can customize and save data. I was wondering if you could offer some advice as to a strategfy for this. I am working on a trial version of CE and will use the local database.

Thanks!

Sudeep,

Stefanie has developed the sample application using SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 and it will not work in your 7.0.11. So download https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/600563cb-c341-2a10-8982-dbfe1... [original link is broken] [original link is broken] and import the sample project.

Sudeep,

Just right click on the project -> Repair -> Project Structure and Class path.

It solves all problems.

SriDhar,

Thank you for the information.

However it is still not working.

when I try to open the view, it gives error "unable to create part : "view name" ".

Actually I am trying to go through the details how this application was built up.
