Hi

I am trying to configure JCO "SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData" for ESS but I am getting the following error

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=qa35 GROUP=SPACE R3NAME=P35 MSSERV=sapmsP35 PCS=1 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR service 'sapmsP35' unknown TIME Mon Nov 05 11:18:27 2007 RELEASE 700 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 38 RC -3 MODULE ninti.c LINE 530 DETAIL NiPGetServByName2: service 'sapmsP35' not found SYSTEM CALL getservbyname_r COUNTER 1

seardhing in sdn suggested that i need to make an entry in the service file of the machine in which the J2ee engine is.....

My doubt is should the entry be "sapms <message server port>/tcp" or is it some other port that we need to specify ??? and also please let me know if there is any need to restart the J2ee engine after the entry is made..

Regards

Krishna

Hi

To find the Message server port ,

Tcode is rz70.

Under data collector program select SLD_MSGSRV and click test

There you find the details of message server and the groups created.

To create "public" group using smlg ,

click on button "create assignment" or F8 enter logon group and instance .
