Hi to all,
I am trying to allocate components of material BoM to more than one operation in routing. I know one way to do it is to define that components again & agin in material BoM & assigned them to operations in routing. Are other ways available to do the same.
Thanks & regards,
Abu Arbab
what you know is one way,
Otherway is do not assign the material to any operation and manually issue the material in MB1a as required during the production progress.

Hi Rajesh,
Plz go through the scenario & answer the query.
I've already created material BoM with 1 alternative 7 now I'm creating a generic routing where component allocation to be done. My scenario is like:
no. of operations: 3
no. of raw materials used: 4 (suppose A, B, C, D)
no. of semi-finished prod produced & used: 1
no. of finished prod produced: 1
now:
operation 1: Raw material A & B consumed and semi-finished prod is produced
operation 2: semi-finished prod is react with raw material C and the produced material goes to operation no. 3.
operation 3: final treatment is given to product from operation 2 with raw material A & D and finished prod comes out.
Now Question is:
I easily allocate raw material B to operation 1, C to operation 2, D to operation3. But how can I allocate raw material A to operation 1 & operation 3 simultaneously And how should be semi-finished product allocated, whether to operation 1 or operation 2?
Thanks & regards,
Abu Arbab
Dear,
Now I am clear.
You need to create different 2 BOM and with BOM items, as below,
example - total requirement of material A is say 10.
Semi finished Product- X BOM
BOM item 1 - material A-qty 8
BOM item 2 - material B-qty -5
Finished material Y - BOM
BOM item 1 - semifished material X-qty 10
BOM item 2 - material C-qty 10
BOM item 3 - material A-qty 2
BOM item 4 - material D-qty -2
You need to create above 2 BOM's if you want to see semifished product into inventory, if not proceed as below
Finished material Y - BOM
BOM item 1 - material A-qty 8 assign it to routing operation 10
BOM item 2 - material B-qty -5 assign it to routing operation 10
BOM item 2 - material C-qty 10 assign it to routing operation 20
BOM item 3 - material A-qty 2 assign it to routing operation 30
BOM item 4 - material D-qty -2 assign it to routing operation 30
I think this is the only way you can map it.
Abu,
There is no other option apart from the one you already know, that's by having the same components multiple times in the BOM.

Prasobh

HI...
Two things u consider in ur scenario.
You can assign the material in BOM for only one operation.
If you would like to assign for more operations, u have to split the material in the BOM
(need to enter as two different materials), so that you can get the costing operation wise.
It was successful in our scenario (Pharma Domain)

Hi
your query is not clear, i think you want to assign more than one operations for BOM components
Standard way is to create routing and assign as many operations starting from 010 ... as per your requirement for that material/components.
I dont know why you want to create components again & again in material BOM..

srihari
