Mass Role Assignment

Is there any way to "Mass Role Assignment".

What I mean from this is there are 100 users in the portal and I create a new role. Can I assign all the users the new role only in one step?

I dont want to use group functionalities.

You can do this via the standard user administration in the Portal, but working from the Role instead of the users.

In other words:

1. Navigate to User Administration, Identity Management

2. Set "Search Criteria" to Role and find your new role

3. Choose the "Assigned Users" tab in the lower half of the screen

4. Click Modify

5. Set the Search Criteria to pick up all your users (you can do this and the next step in stages)

6. Click Add to add them to the role

7. Finally, with all the users assigned, click Save - this will do the bulk assignment of users to roles for you.

It also helps if you export some users into a file - just to help with the layout/format of the file.

Hi karan

You can use the import utlity in UME to do the same. You will need to create a file in the format specified and then upload it.

keep group blank if you dont want to assign any.
