help on Importing the SAP Exchange Profile

Hello,

I could not find file /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/exchange_profile.xml , while doing post installation step in installation guide. the step is importing the SAP XI profile.

It is just to to save the profile, i mean to save user passwords for security reasons.

Can i leave this step and perform later.

Thank you very much. I am really struggling all these time to follow which document and now i am much clear with your help.

Yes, i followed the installation document MAXDB on windows..and done the required steps.

Now i have to run installer template.. What if i get any problems with it.

you dont have to do that import step for a PI install ...thats done..automatically as part of the install, its to bedone manually for the Xi 3.0 install, that is why you dont find the file there...

I am planning to run templete installer. is it ok if i run now.

before you run the template , there were few steps you need to follow, just follow the installation document.

But when i seached for NW2004s installation, i could not find any documents for PI. I don't know why.. Also, XI 30 docs are the ones which i could find for installation and configuration.

In 2004s Installation guide link, choose your DB and operating system.

in the guide follow the steps mensioned in the guide.

There is no separate document for PI installation, its common for all Netweaver Componants ( PI,BI,EP ) in the installation guide, in each step he'll mension , weather you need to use that step for PI or you can ignore for PI.

I checked it manually and could not find. I installed 2004s(NW70) i think the users also changed here. I can PISUPER, PIAPPLUSER etc., rather than XISUPER as described in installation guide.

i am using XI30 SR1 installation guide. Hope it is correct.

2004s Installation Guide will be there, you should follow that guide.

You can use XI3.0 as reference.

If you are installing PI7.0, then why you are using the XI3.0 installation guid.

Kindly refer the PI7.0 guid.

if the installation is successful, U'll not find any XML file there.

You MUST import it.

have you checked mannualy at the directory, if file is there or not.
