you can install SAPGUI on Win XP
but you cannot install a SAP server product on Windows XP
so, no ECC 5.0 on Windows XP.
Some people claim that they were able to install ECC 5.0 on Windows XP for home usage, but this is obviously not supported.

Yes, you can install SAP GUI on windows XP.
I have installed it on my XP OS & it is working absolutely fine.
