Hi guys,
Iam installing netweaver7.0 on windows 2003 server with ms sql server database.
iam getting an error during start java engine phase saying that server0 is UNKNOWN
i looked in the server0 developer trace, it says ERRor occured during initialization of VM.
could not reserve enough space for object heap.
i know its the problem with heap size. but i don't know how to set the heap size in windows 2003.
please help me in this regard.
thank you,
sandeep.
hi,
see below for heap memory settings
1. In the left frame choose Server → Services → Configuration Adapter
2. Choose cluster_data → Propertysheet instance.properties.ID
3. Choose Show the detail of the selected node
4. The parameter ID...MaxHeapSize for server0 must be set according to your platform:
On IBM iSeries: Set the value to 3072.
Other platforms: Set the value to 1024
regards
ajai

Sandeep,
To check paging file (also called VM)size:
a. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
b. Choose Advanced → Performance Options.
c. If required, in section Virtual Memory, choose
Change.
Note: The VM should be 1GB + 3 times ur RAM...A VM of 10 GB is usually enough
