I had the same problem

For test I make some test:

First I found this: http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/installation-error-on-sap-erp-2005-sr...

but after all this not help me

So i do simple test:

chmod -R 777 /root (under root folder i put my installation files)

I think that sap installer need to have full priviliages to full path.

This step slove my problem. Try if you want.

(THIS IS NOT SECURE!!! ...THIS WAS ONLY A TEST ...AFTER ALL I CHANGE THE chmod to previous version)

Hi,

yes this fixed my issue, too

chmod 777 /home

chmod 777 /home/user

... and so on for all folders

and then chmod 777 -R /home/user/*DVD's*

cheers

Dear Amit,

FSL-00001 System call failed. Error 13(Permission denied) -- had a statement at the end stating the file(JDBCCONNECT.JAR in the 'Installation Master' DVD) for which the permission was denied.

That particular file had 'rwx' permissions for root, still it was not functioning. Hence i gave 777 permission to all files/folders that were dumped for the installation & the didn't encounter any further problems.

Thank you Ganesh !

Had the same error with my Best Practice Fast Start installation (BP Baio Demo).

I had corrected the permissions with chmod ug+rwx, but chmod 777 on the inst-DVDs did the trick. I think the installer tried to open the files with <sid>adm.

At the moment check the permission on sap and db file systems.

try to see error in sapinst.log

See the permision under sapinst_instdir and check the permission within it,

check the permission on control.xml

are you doing cluter installtion.may be this problem is associated with control file.

Thanks ..update us with the progress.
