Hi Experts,
I am not getting my forecast generated for particular material in background job.
However I can generate the forecast manually in interactive planning.
I have checked following and my observations are.
1) Consistent consumption history exists for this material.
2) Proportional factors have generated for this material.
3) This material is Relevant for DP and SNP in APO product master(MAT1)
4) Job Log for this CVC shows that "Insufficient historical values available for model choice and Constant model set"
Could any body can help me to understand the problem causing no forecast for material in background execution of forecast.
Thanks,
Sunil
By default a seasonal model requires atleast 2 seasons + 3 periods for intialization. This means it may require 27 periods for making a proper choice of model In your case it looks that history is less than 27 periods. Change the requirement of this through BADI for forecast adjustment to something less.

Hi,
What is the forecasting model setup? Is it by any chance between 50 and 59? The system calculates the auto correlation co-efficient and tests for trend or seasonal patterns. If the system couldnot get the values right, then it sets constant model by default. Also these automatic models are not suitable for background processing.
Please take a look at the document <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7a4025f8-0a01-0010-0fb2-b7ab22597675">Statistical model selection</a>. Particularly pages after 40 till the end.
Please let us know if you need more information.
Thanks.

Hi Sunil,
See if any of these notes help you:
Note 1060621 - Error msg /sapapo/ma 702 and 502 terminate the Process Chain
Note 828665 - Forecast in mass processing: "No historical data"
Note 790517 - No error message "No historical data available"
Also please check if these are happening because of the service pack.
Hi Visu,
Thanks for your help,
I found out the solution for this.
we have option of save or not to save the forecast data setting when above error occurs in Background job.
this will be done in activity of the Background job and in control data-> messages we can choose the error on which you want to save the forecast even that error occurs.
Thanks for you help.
Thanks,
Sunil
