Hello gurus, i got an error,,,plz can anyone clarify....

Assignment to a profitability segment has no effect for account 200000

Message no. KE498

Diagnosis

You assigned account 200000 to a profitability segment. However, no cost element exists for this account in controlling area MMM with the date 01.11.2007. Consequently, this assigned has no effect.

System Response

You cannot assign the account to a profitability segment.

Procedure

Create cost element 200000 in controlling area MMM. Then you can assign the account to a profitability segment.

Here 200000 is casha/c

The message itself is very clear. You havent created a cost element 200000 in your controlling area MMM. (Tcode: KA01)

After creating, assign the same to the segment.(Check tcode: Kei1)

Here, 200000 cash a/c is balance sheet a/c,,,so how can its possible....cost elements are only for p & l a/c's

Hi Bhaskar,

All Balance Sheet Accounts can never have Cost elements hence, it is not possible to move it to COPA and so the error.

Try to enter with P&L accounts which would be having Cost elements being properly configured and assigned in COPA.
